What’s in a name? Well, on Saturday December 2nd, the Just in Time Choirs will explore that question through song. The theme for our Fall concert at the Comox Pentecostal Church is “The Name of the Game”. Each iconic song has been selected for its centering around the name of a person.
You’ll hear songs ranging from John Denver’s sublime “Annie’s Song”, Ray Charles’ classic “Georgia on My Mind”, Paul Simon’s hit “You Can Call me Al” to the Beatles unforgettable “Hey Jude”, and of course we couldn’t possibly leave out ABBA’s “The Name of the Game”!
The setlist also includes a fun mash up of Paul Simon’s “Cecilia” and “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” along with the Dolly Parton mega-hit, “Jolene”, to mention just a few. All three choirs come together to perform the finale and complete what will be a memorable night for all.
Just in Time is comprised of three ensembles: Unplugged (everyone welcome), the Jems (auditioned treble), and Vocal Minority (auditioned mixed). These locally renowned contemporary choirs perform under the direction of the enthusiastic choral conductor, Wendy Nixon Stothert. They will be joined by talented musical collaborators, Sean Mooney on piano, Britt Bowman on bass, Beau Stocker on drums, and Arlo Fleenor on guitar.
All three choirs are engaging, expressive, full of energy and the joy they project in their presentations is entertaining and infectious. Please join us at the Comox Pentecostal Church, 1919 Guthrie Road, for the matinee performance commencing at 1:30 or the evening performance at 6:30 on December 2nd.
Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $15.00 for children 12 & under (including fees). There is also a live stream option, and we are again offering a limited number of Community Supported Tickets at $15. Tickets and full details available online from our web site, www.justintimechoirs.ca/tickets. Tickets may be purchased at the door, subject to availability. We look forward to sharing the joy of singing with you and welcoming you to the show!
