January 1, 1970 @ 12:00 am - September 24, 2023 @ 4:00 pm PST

$80

If you’ve ogled beautiful bead work earrings or moccasins and want to learn to work with these materials, we’ve got the class for you! Learn beading and make this keychain (or pendant, or start earrings!)

Doris Weiselein is an elder of Cree descent, born and raised in Northern Manitoba but living in the Comox Valley for 62 years. She’s been a force for positive change in the Comox Valley, volunteering countless hours and working with various organizations.

She has taught beadwork and sold her creations for over 35years and is excited to share at The Spool! This fall series is a great opportunity to learn from a master, starting with beadwork and going all the way to making your own moccasins.

A kit fee is included in the price, so you can arrive with enthusiasm and a water bottle, and not need anything else.

Three scholarship spaces are available to folks of indigenous descent, if you would like to claim a space, please send me a message info@thespoolsewingstudio.com

We require a minimum of 10 students to run this class, so in case of low registration, we will reschedule to another Sunday.

Kids ages 10+ are welcome, if they are registered alongside an adult. Teens 15+ don’t require an adult.
