DESCRIPTION:Find connection to yourself and others through this 8 week series of a therapeutic arts practice.Expressive Art Therapy is a gentle\, therapeutic practice that explores artmaking\, writing\, sound\, and movement to support your wellness. Absolutely no artistic skill or experience is required. Together\, in a group of maximum 8 people\, we will ground by checking in\, gentle artistic prompts and activities\, and reflections. Those who attend the first few sessions will help us choose a focus or theme for the remainder of the series. These themes could include: Rooted in Nature\, Awakening the Senses\, The Journey of Aging\, Walking into the Dreamworld\, Forgiveness & Gratitude\, or Good Grief. SUMMARY:The Joy Factory – Creativity Through Clown
DESCRIPTION:A workshop for adults to explore clown as a potent source for creating in any artistic discipline.  No performance experience necessary\, just a willingness to be open\, present and play.  We will focus on: \n\nlistening with the whole body\novercoming fear through fun\, breath\, and a sense of pleasure\ndiscovering how to “be”  without needing to perform\nembracing the joy and power of failure\nusing physicalization to inspire and develop material\nexploring how to find humour without trying to be funny\n\nStudents are expected to attend all six sessions and prepare assignments in between. You will need to wear neutral\, comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. \nWe’ll meet on six consecutive Sundays: Oct. 18 & 25\, Nov. 1\, 8 & 15 from 2 pm – 6 pm\, and Nov. 22 from 2 pm – 8 pm. \nDeep Dive – All six sessions: $350.00 OR Dippity Do – First three sessions only: $175.00.  Reduction available for under- and unwaged. \nMaximum 10 participants. DESCRIPTION:Exploring with collage connects you with your creativity\, and can help sidestep those pesky harsh self-judgments about your artistic abilities. \nUsing collage\, we will cultivate a sense of possibility\, adventure and imagination. Using existing images in unpredictable compositions and with collaboration can lower our inhibitions (which is great for those who want to be creative but don’t consider themselves artists) providing a playful experience with curiousity and openness to the unexpected … just for fun! \nAll levels welcome and all materials supplied.
