SUMMARY:The Joy Factory - Creativity Through Clown
DESCRIPTION:This workshop for adults explores clown as a potent source for creating in any artistic discipline.  No performance experience necessary\, just a willingness to be open\, present and play.  We will focus on: \n\nlistening with the whole body\novercoming fear through fun\, breath\, and a sense of pleasure\ndiscovering how to “be”  without needing to perform\nembracing the joy and power of failure\nusing physicalization to inspire and develop material\nexploring how to find humour without trying to be funny\n\nStudents are expected to attend all six sessions and prepare assignments in between. You will need to wear neutral\, comfortable clothing that you can move in freely. \nWe’ll meet on six consecutive Sundays: Oct. 18 & 25\, Nov. 1\, 8 & 15 from 2 pm – 6 pm\, and Nov. 22 from 2 pm – 8 pm. \nCost: $350.00 (reduction available for under- and unwaged) \nMaximum 10 participants. Advance registration and $50 deposit required. \nContact dlkolpak@gmail.com  for further details or with questions. \n_______________________ \nInstructor Diana Kolpak’s theatrical clown adventures during the past three decades and include being the first-ever Canadian invited to perform at clownin\, Vienna’s international festival of women clowns\,  seeking stars in frozen wastelands\, performing liposuction on herself\, dancing as a prima ballerina\, lion taming\,  fighting epic cream pie battles and embodying a mermaid-turned- lounge-singer.  She’s also a theatre director\, musician and published writer and photographer.  www.dianakolpak.ca
