My new painting “Be Still Butterfly” represents renewal, spiritual rebirth, and the promise that the future is better than the present along with a bright sunny day to display hope for tomorrow. The one butterfly staying planted on the lupin is reminder to stay calm and be more focused.

Renewal to me means change. This year, I have been exploring with pen ink and decided to use this style on canvas with paint. My new style is giving me a freer approach to what I am trying to say in my work. By changing a once traditionally painted scene from its natural state into a more contemporary style may allow the viewer to have a more personal connection to the work.
