About this piece
This diptych depicts Woodhus Slough, a local wetland and shore area at Salmon Point. It not only is my personal ‘go-to’ spot for renewal but during covid, it has been a place where my art group friends would meet, walk the paths (physically distanced), enjoy the incredible beauty of our natural world and catch up on what artistic pursuits we were doing to renew our creative energy. Being in nature really is all about renewal!

About the artist
Kathi describes her art as eclectic- landscapes, portraits and abstract works in many media (oil, watercolour, acrylic, oil and cold wax and encaustic). Always rooted in our west coast environment, she likes to push the colours and compositions away from the purely representational. Kathi creates and teaches from her studio at Miracle Beach.
