Arts-Based Program Coordinator
Comox Valley Arts is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented professional dedicated to our arts-based community development, intergenerational knowledge sharing, and JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) goals, and someone who is interested in supporting the mission, vision, and ongoing development of the organization.
This is a 9-month part-time contract employment position with opportunities to renew, based on the discretion of the Executive Director, and the Human Resources Committee, and continued program funding and successes.
We are looking for an Arts-Based Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. You will help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as delivery of those programs.
To be an excellent program coordinator, you must be organized, detail-oriented and comfortable working with diverse teams. If you have further skills in program development, we’d like to meet you. We welcome and encourage folks with diverse lived experience and identities to apply.

COMPENSATION
$30/hr (approx 50 hours per month, this will vary based on actual program delivery schedule and be flexible)
SKILLS AND DELIVERABLES
Assist Executive Director and Community Engagement Director in addressing and fulfilling all potential aspects of programming delivery. These may include:
- Overall program scheduling with the team
- Implementation and management of registration of participants
- Outreach & engagement with clients, members & partner organization
- Basic Data management & security
- Ensuring appropriate partner deliverables are met
- Ensuring funder deliverables are met
- Facilitating artist supports
- Outreach to new artists
- Ensuring policies and goals around JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion) are engaged
- Recording and/or livestreaming various events
- Supporting event promotions
- Aiding in social media presence
- Set up and tear down of program venues
- Occasional cash handling, and use of Point of Sale and ticketing systems
- Organization and acquisition of supplies and equipment required to deliver programming
- Collaboration on marketing and support materials for programs and campaign
- Recruiting and coordinating volunteers
- Use of volunteer engagement tools
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have:
- Familiarity with the Comox Valley arts community as a whole
- Proven experience as a program coordinator or relevant position
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in relation to public communication & interaction
- Background experience and knowledge around JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion)
- Ability and willingness to use collaborative online tools to work with other members of the CVA team
- Knowledge of budgeting
- Ability to achieve goals within strict timelines
- Working knowledge of recording and livestreaming equipment and technologies
- Comfort and creative energy to contribute to marketing and social media content as appropriate, requested or inspired
- Working knowledge of the Comox Valley geography and amenities
- High level of comfort with standard business software and internet applications
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Reasonable access to the internet
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident or have refugee status in Canada
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Class 5 Driver’s License, vehicle and appropriate insurance coverage
