Spinning and Unravelling: Art from the Wachiay Residency

September 27 @ 5:00 pm - October 26 @ 5:00 pm

Free

During this year’s Wachiay Residency, six community-based artists from around B.C. spent a week immersed in the screen print medium. Their work will be on display at Comox Valley Art Gallery from September 27-October 26.

The opening of this exhibit coincides with Pulse in the Plaza. Several of the artists will be in attendance.

Luke Ramsey from the Sunshine Coast and Rachelle Antoine from K’omoks First Nation were the first artists in the studio. They were followed by Amanda Hugon and Facundo Gastiazoro who are part of Raven Tacuara mural collective in northern B.C. The final artist pair, Shawna Kiesman and Danika Saunders, are longtime friends who met at Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art.
