Digital Creative Access

Empowering the community with free digital creation sessions for equity-deserving individuals and groups.

Through Digital Creative Access (DCA), we offer equity-deserving individuals free 1.5-hour sessions at the Digital Creation Hub (DCH), with support from our technicians. Whether you’re recording a podcast, voiceover, music, or need photography or videography, we’re here to help bring your ideas to life.

There are five sessions available throughout 2025, occurring every other month. Additional sessions, beyond the free DCA sessions for equity-deserving individuals, can be booked through the DCH page.

To get started, simply browse the listings below and answer a few questions about your creative project. Spots are first-come, first-served and limited.

Due to funding, this opportunity currently is only available once every two months, with 5 sessions in 2025. We hope to offer more sessions in 2026. Stay updated by signing up to our newsletter and social media.

Not sure if you qualify for a Digital Creative Access session?

CV/Arts created DCA with equity-deserving individuals and organizations in mind. Equity-deserving groups are those who have historically faced barriers to equal access in areas such as employment, education, and other opportunities. Our goal is to serve our community by providing access to equipment, art materials, and teaching techniques for those who have had limited access in the past. While we recognize that our criteria may not capture everyone, we are committed to ensuring that no one is turned away, even if they don’t identify with the groups we’ve outlined. Below is a short, non-comprehensive list of equity-deserving groups. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us at dch@comoxvalleyarts.com.

  • First Nations
  • Métis
  • Inuit people and communities
  • Urban Indigenous communities
  • Racialized communities
  • Newcomers, refugees and asylum seekers
  • Persons with disabilities/disabled persons
  • Women
  • Gender Minorities
  • Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community
  • Others experiencing barriers to economic opportunity and participation.

As part of the application, you’ll be asked to complete a voluntary self-identification form to help us address barriers related to equality, diversity, and inclusion within our community. This information will remain anonymous and confidential.
