Acclaimed Canadian composer, improviser and jazz pianist David Braid is visiting Vancouver Island in December 2024 following his tour in Denmark, Poland and the UK. It is our good fortune that he can join us in the Salon to perform selections from his own compositions for solo piano, as heard on some of his Juno award-winning recordings.

Combining harmonic intricacies fundamental to European classical music and the spontaneity of American jazz, Braid’s original music engages audiences with melodic lyricism and rhythmic pulses that do not conform neatly to any one musical genre. For lovers of jazz and the piano, and for folks who like to be adventurous in their musical taste, do not miss this performance!
