Lecture: Challenging Exile: Japanese Canadians and the Wartime Constitution

Speaker: UVic Professor of History Dr. Jordan Stanger-Ross

Dr. Stanger-Ross’ illustrated talk will explore the government’s attempted mass banishment of Japanese Canadians after the close of the Second World War.

Stanger-Ross was the lead researcher for the Broken Promises travelling exhibit from the Nikkei National Museum currently on display in our upstairs gallery.

Tickets: $5 for Historical Society members; $6 for general public. Advance tickets recommended. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling 250-334-0686 ext 2.
