Golden Rhythms will be led by microgrant recipient Lisa Kenzie as a one-day celebration designed to connect elders in the Comox Valley through music, dance, and creative expression. The event will feature live and DJ music, refreshments, and inclusive social spaces that will encourage movement, conversation, and storytelling.
Accessibility and intergenerational engagement will be central to the project. Youth volunteers will provide support as both greeters and dance partners, and thoughtful accommodations will ensure everyone can participate comfortably. Golden Rhythms will aim to celebrate the creativity and resilience of local seniors while fostering deeper community connections and laying the groundwork for future arts-based elder engagement initiatives in the region.
